This week, we had the joy of engaging with 8th and 9th graders in a session on Study Skills — and what an insightful time it turned out to be!
Through discussions, storytelling (thank you Reshma & Shubha !), and reflection activities, students began identifying what actually works for them:
- Studying at the same time every day builds rhythm
- Not every subject needs equal time, but all deserve attention
- Revision isn't a luxury — it's a must (at least once a week!)
- Even 'easy' subjects require consistency
- And most importantly: studying needs to become a habit, not a chore
Using a simple "Study Score" activity, the students evaluated their current practices — and were surprised at the room for growth.
Helping students discover their own strategies is far more powerful than handing them a generic rulebook. When the learning feels personal, it sticks.
